FNS: You Make The Difference

(LAS CRUCES , NM) - For 20 years, Frontera NorteSur (FNS) has kept readers in the United States and abroad informed about critical issues along the U.S.-Mexico border, in Mexico and New Mexico and beyond. This has been a transformational, pivotal period of history globally as well as locally here in the Paso del Norte borderland.

In the past two decades, we’ve witnessed the North American Free Trade Agreement, Operation Hold the Line and the expansion of border security, the onslaught of climate change, the economic crises of 2000 and 2008, the controversial 2006 and 2012 Mexican elections, and the emergence of the immigrant rights movement, to name a few events. And this has been the time of narco wars, the Juarez femicides, drought, and flooding in the border region.

FNS has covered all these stories and much more. In fact, we can say we were on top of many of these stories long before they were regularly covered by the big media.

In good part, this has been made possible by you, the reader. FNS counts on readers to fill in the yearly gaps in funding and helps us maintain a quality news service. Your tax-deductible donations have helped us not only survive but expand our coverage as well.

For these reasons, we come to you every fall to ask for your generous support. In 2013, we have a rather modest goal that you can help us meet. We need readers who can step up to the plate and contribute $30, $40, $100 or more to make the goal. If you cannot afford the suggested amounts, we will gladly accept any donation that fits your budget. We also appreciate any suggestions for foundation funding or contacts with large donors who you might know about.

Whatever the amount you give, all your donations are fully tax-deductible.

You can donate to FNS either electronically or via check as per the instructions at the bottom of this letter. Readers with any foundation leads are also encouraged to contact Dr. Garcia-Bryce at the below e-mail address. We thank you so very much for your support.

Sincerely,

Dr. Inigo Garcia-Bryce, Director
