Lady Owls Pick up First Win 69-66

(VALLEJO, California) - Oregon Tech’s Colleen Hunt went 4-4 from the foul line over the last minute to preserve the Lady Owls first win of the 2010 season 69-66 over the Keelhaulers of Cal Maritime Academy. Tech moves to 1-1 on the season and will host Pacific Union on Sunday, November 7th at Danny Miles Court with a 2:00 pm start. Cal Maritime slips to 0-2 with the loss.

Tech opened up with a 9-2 lead and took its biggest lead of the night 35-25 with 5:00 minutes left in the half. The Keelhaulers would close the half on a 10-4 run as the two teams entered the half with Oregon Tech clinging to a 39-35 lead.

The two teams would battle back and forth over the final 20 minutes with the Keelhaulers pulling to within one point at 65-64 with 2:40 left to play. After two Colleen Hunt free throws Tech led 67-64, the Cal Maritime would cut the lead to 67-66 with just 6 seconds remaining but Hunt gave Oregon Tech the win as she was fouled again and was perfect from the line as The Lady Owls won 69-66.

Oregon Tech was led in scoring by Aundrea Albright who had 18 points and 12 rebounds, Morgan Hofman had 17 points including 4-6 from long range and Brittany Cherry dropped in 16 points in the win.
