Salem-News.com's Dr. Phil Leveque has written numerous times about the connections between Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and stateside Murder cases. We do not know at this point if there is a specific connection in this case. This statement was issued from the office of from Vice President Joe Biden: “Jill and I join the President and Michelle in expressing our sympathies to the families of the brave soldiers who fell today. We are all praying for those who were wounded and hoping for their full and speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are also with the entire Fort Hood community as they deal with this senseless tragedy.” Secretary Gates commented on Ft. Hood Shooting, "I am deeply saddened by the tragic events today at Fort Hood. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the fallen, the wounded, and all those touched by this incident. There is little we can say at this point to alleviate the pain or answer the many questions this event raises, but I can pledge that the Department of Defense will do everything in its power to help the Fort Hood community get through these difficult times." gp how does PTSD apply to the shooter? If he was a white Christian, would you also consider PTSD if he had never been in combat, or even having gone overseas? It's been badied about ever since a decendent of the artist Van Goah was killed in Denmark that members of the media worry about a "Fatwa" coming down on them so they sugercoat their behavior when it should be called to task. Have you noticed that in many movies they just are not blowing uo Mosques, but hey know problem with churches. Lot of fear out there from the liberals, but that's part of who they are.
Editor: This doctor sat there for six years hearing about the worst horrors of war. It may not have led to PTSD but it seems any human being would be disturbed by it. No matter what, this guy was an American, and there isn't much else to it. If he were Jewish, would you have similar comments? Muslims have been bashed and treated with extreme prejudice ever since Bush and all of his cronies started these wars of aggression in the middle east. I think it is interesting that this officer turned killer ever was willing to serve in the U.S. Army. It is my guess that he changed greatly over the time he was in.

OK, the talk radio people are going to be having fun spinning this for months. They will take all personal detail away from Mr. Hasan and leave him only a Muslim...and a terrorist. So we all need to be talking more about PTSD the real culprit being war itself.

After reading more of the story this is clearly the result of the "Stop Loss Polocy" which was created to help the Government combat war on Terror. That policy is a lip stick on that old big hiding the silent draft. Ask your leaders to stop forcing a Soldier to serve after he Volunteered to.

It doesnt matter what religion someone is from or what background... if they MURDER anyone american or not they ARE a terrorist!

The perpetrator is still alive, so maybe we can get some insight from him into how and why he was pushed into this behavior...to keep it from happening again. Chalk up some more casualties to Bush/Cheney's war for profit. We are sending people to occupy foreign lands against their will. President Obama and the mainstream media shouldn't be so shocked when people snap under this pressure.

This was not a frontline combatant, nor would he be put in a frontline situation when sent to Iraq. He was a miltary psychologist of Jordanian descent. Seems that they are real slow getting info out on the perps.

I'll tell you what's going on. The shooter made Major in May and if Im not mistaken he was suppose to go to school for two years then be in charge of a place like Fort Campbell, but that didnt happen. He got deployed and shouldnt had. I know this because a family member was hoping to make the same rank but that didnt happen. I told the family not to be surprised if he didnt make it because they need troops in Afghanistan. From what I understand this may be why this Soldier snapped.

“Malik Nadal Hasan“, Muslim convert. Why don't you call it what it is, a terrorist attack. Killing our soldiers on American soil. How long do you want to cover the truth? No wonder you go out of business
Editor: What kind of nonsense are you suggesting? Being of a particular religion does not make somebody a terrorist. You sound like you never learned how this nation is structured. This "Christian" country in your eyes quite obviously, is occupying two countries right now. There are Muslim Americans fighting in these wars and we are fighting for the people of two predominantly Muslim countries. That is what President Bush thought Americans should do with their time and money. Every time a Christian kills people, do you blast the word"terrorist"? We need to learn more about this, smallness and racial bigotry and hatred are not the answer.
