Dense Fog Advisory in Effect for Willamette Valley

Motorists this morning should slow down, use headlights, and leave plenty of space between you and the vehilce in front of you.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for the southern Willamette Valley this morning until 11:00 AM.

Dense fog will spread from the south Willamette Valley to the central and north Willamette Valley over the early morning hours. At 3:20 AM, Corvallis was reporting below one quarter mile visibility, Salem reported just over two miles. Visibility in the Salem-area this morning may drop to one quarter mile at times.

Motorists should slow down, use headlights, leave plenty of space between you and the vehilce in front of you, and use extreme caution when travelling on Interstate 5, Highway 22 east and west of Salem, and on rural roads.

TODAY: WIDESPREAD FOG IN THE MORNING WITH LOCAL VISIBILITY ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES -- THEN MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGHS AROUND 60. LIGHT WIND BECOMING NORTH 10 TO 15 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

TONIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR. PATCHY FOG AFTER MIDNIGHT. LOWS 35 TO 40. NORTH WIND 5 TO 15 MPH.

TUESDAY: PARTLY SUNNY. PATCHY FOG IN THE MORNING. HIGHS AROUND 60. NORTH WIND 5 TO 10 MPH.

WEDNESDAY: PARTLY SUNNY. HIGHS AROUND 60. LIGHT WIND.

THURSDAY: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN. HIGHS 55 TO 60.

FRIDAY: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF RAIN. HIGHS AROUND 55.
