(SALEM, Ore.) - Tick Tock. Goodbye Clocks are turned back one hour at 2:00 AM Sunday as Daylight Saving Time ends. Ken Palke with the Oregon Liquor Control Commission says it will be a longer night than usual at Oregon's drinking establishments. "So for the imbibing crowd, that could mean that nightclubs, bars, taverns and other licensed premises may remain open an extra hour." Palke says that according to the Oregon Liquor Control Commission, liquor licensees must stop serving and selling alcohol at the new 2:30 AM, providing that extra hour to be open. But there is a catch, "However, they’ll have to return that 60 minutes in the spring when the clocks are pushed forward an hour." Neal et al: "Power is as power does" is old-quote re that overweening desire to shape and complicate life for others, thus simply demonstrating power itself. Cheney-life full of examples starting in Reagan era, still continuing.

I want to know what exactly was gained by messing with DST by a week each end that justified all the resultant hassle? Sure my computer was automatically updated and by association my pda but all my VCTs, microwave, range, watch and other items that have been preprogrammed and are not updateable had to now be reset TWICE... once to undo their wrong change then again to implement the change after a week. Bush just seems to like screwing with folks just because he can. It is one of the lesser reasons to want this idiot removed but I think as much as anything it exemplifies the flawed character inherent in his core that makes him grossly unfit to lead this nation. Ah well...
