Gaza: Women die waiting - an appeal

It is something really worthy of all our support to donate to AngliCORD’s appeal so fewer and fewer women have to die waiting.

(MELBOURNE, Aust.) - Editor’s Note:  We often get requests from people wanting to help the Palestinians.  It is always difficult to know just what to suggest because there is so much need as a result of the oppressive political situation in which they live.   It is true that unless Israel lifts the siege on Gaza, ends the military occupation and stops discriminating against its own Palestinian citizens, the situation for Palestinians will continue to deteriorate.

But that does not mean we should do nothing to alleviate their suffering, especially those who are dying because they are prevented from accessing the proper medical treatment.

AngliCORD is running an appeal to fund clinics where women can go to test for breast cancer and receive treatment in the early stages.   AngliCORD estimates that breast cancer is the greatest killer of women in Gaza, particularly because of the  limited treatment possibilities.  Two wonderful Australians – Rev Dr Alan Reid and his wife Janet Reid, who sadly is no longer with us - have done much over the years to support Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza, so much so that the breast screening clinic  has been named after Janet.

It is something really worthy of all our support to donate to AngliCORD’s appeal so fewer and fewer women have to die waiting.  PLEASE DONATE WHAT YOU CAN TODAY.

In Australia, the five year survival rate for a woman with breast cancer is 80%.
In Israel, it is 71%.
In Gaza, it is 40%.

The majority of breast cancers in the Gaza Strip are not detected until it
is too late for surgery alone to be effective. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy
are not available in Gaza, however, and women must navigate a lengthy and
unpredictable permits process to access treatment in the surrounding
countries. As a result, many women die waiting for treatment.

HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

The women in Gaza are doing wonders with the little that they have. You can
do wonders too by joining our campaign and assisting us to raise funds to
improve their access to appropriate breast cancer treatment.

By funding breast clinics through the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza, Anglicord
will help women to detect their cancers earlier so that they can access
appropriate surgical treatment. These clinics will also promote education so
that women will understand the need for self examination and early
detection, and they will know to seek immediate attention for any suspicious
lumps.

Dude shmude, you have no idea what the hell you talking about. Barking from far and lieing is easy. FYI I am not named after a rifle but what would you know. You are right in the idea that Gazans dont have much choices under the brutal and thuggish state terrorism of Hammas. If you think living under an attack of 8000 muslim rockets is fun, I wish it for your hood and lets see how much of a hero you gonna be. No government of any kind would tolerate what Israel received so far. Its easy but muslims are not equiped to understand the simple idea: Dont shoot at me so I wont have to return fire and kill you. I guess you enjoy muslim terror in the USA and worldwide too.
God Bless America, the best ever. Deport all muslims back to their shithole countries.

Tim King: Wow, you are the worst kind of bigot aren't you?  That Israeli the other day that the rockets killed makes 29 Israelis in all time that have died as a result of the glorified fireworks that give you your nightmares.  How would you like to live surrounded by a wall and guard towers.  Anyway, it doesn't matter, there are no excuses for apartheid and Genocide, you are on a bad team.  I'm glad there are so many people in Israel resisting you, that must give you nightmares too.  I grew up in gangland LA by the way, I've been to two wars, it is all bullshit, the violence and lies and theft of land.  Muslim terror is a bunch of pissed off people who had their land stolen, like you wouldn't be pissed?  Oh right, God made a real estate deal for you guys, I forget... Herzel was an antisemite before being the father of your movement, that is how much sincerity is built into it.  All this, on a story about women's breast cancer?

Thank you so much for promoting this campaign. This is something very concrete that people can assist with - since July this year, the hospital has been able to screen over 500 women, around 30% of whom required follow up treatment. Jane Still - Anglicord

Thanks Jane!

Your lies are amazing. Australia , dont believe muslim lies. Instead of weapons Gaza could spend all the $$$ on hospitals and doctors.

Editor: Dude, you're named after an automatic  rifle, I mean look at you...  I don't think the people of Gaza have many choices of their own to make as long as they are living under the brutal and thuggish state terrorism of Israel's.  Besides, if anyone ever had a legitimate right to defend themselves, they are the Gazans.
