(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - Oregon State Police and Marion County Medical Examiner are continuing the investigation into the death of a man found Wednesday morning in a car at the east end of the northbound Santiam Rest Area off Interstate 5. There are no signs of violence or foul play, according to State Police Spokesman, Lieutenant Gregg Hastings. OSP dispatchers say they received a report this morning around 7:30 AM, from an ODOT employee that a citizen saw a possible deceased man in a car at the Santiam Rest Area. Hastings says troopers and Jefferson Fire Department personnel responded to the rest area and located a gray 1988 Buick Park Avenue four-door where they confirmed the man was deceased. The cause of death has not been confirmed and will be subject to follow up work by the medical examiner. The man is identified as 40-year old Brian Leslie Maxwell of Albany. According to family members, he was last seen Tuesday. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call OSP Detective Greg Withers at (503) 934-0356.
