(MADRAS, Ore.) - Police are asking for the public's help in locating a Madras man wanted after two separate eluding incidents over the weekend in Jefferson and Deschutes counties.

28-year old Carl Jake Williams III of Madras was reportedly involved in the two incidents on Saturday and Sunday; he is wanted for eluding State, county and city police officers.

The most recent incident happened Sunday night at approximately 9:15 PM, when Oregon State Police Trooper Scott Sogge attempted to stop a black Honda for a traffic violation in Madras.

Oregon State Police Sergeant Eric Brown, says the vehicle failed to yield to the patrol car and sped away at the north end of Madras with speeds never exceeding 50 mph.

"After driving about a mile, the car came to a stop at a residence off Highway 97 and the passenger, later identified as Williams, got out of the car and ran into a house where the driver's parents lived."

He says Trooper Sogge was able to take the Honda's driver into custody. 29-year old Jerrod Alexander Miller of Madras, was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail for Felony Attempt to Elude in a Vehicle and Hindering Prosecution. Brown says Williams subsequently ran from the house and was not located.

Police officers from Madras, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, and Redmond, with the help of a canine, in the search.

On Saturday, May 24th, Brown says Williams was involved in the first incident when he eluded Deschutes County Sheriff's Office after driving recklessly through a mall parking lot and running away.

Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1 or Oregon State Police Northern Command Center dispatch at 800-452-7888.
