No Party Politics - No Elections

"I might not be able to contest and vote, but still I can do politics," Fonseka, 61, told Reuters on Tuesday in a telephone interview from his home outside the capital, Colombo. "I can educate the people, I can talk to people and have meetings," he said. (quote from Reuters – on line 23 May)

New political party named ‘Democratic Party’

Mr. Ketagoda, (MP) who is the Chairman of the party, also said MP Arjuna Ranatunga and Anoma Fonseka will be the Co-Deputy Leaders of the Party while Tiran Alles will act as the General Secretary. (from DM – 23 May / on line)
