(KEIZER, Ore.) - Several Keizer Police officers responded to the 3900 block of Partridge Lane NE at 9:47 PM last night on a report that several gun shots had been fired and someone had been injured last night around 9:47 PM.

Keizer Police Captain Jeff Kuhns says the first officers arrived on scene at the Partridge Lane Apartments within a minute after receiving the call.

"They were met by several individuals who were congregated in the parking lot. Witnesses reported seeing a male suspect fire several gunshots towards the apartment complex before he fled on foot," Kuhns said.

At least two apartments, one at 3971 and the other at 3973 Partridge Lane NE, sustained damage as a result of the gunfire according to Kuhns.

"Officers did not locate any victims who were injured by the gunfire. It is unknown at the time of this media release if either apartment was occupied by any individuals when the shots were fired."

While the initial responding officers were attempting to secure the crime scene and interview the witnesses, Kuhns says officers heard several more gun shots that were fired close to their location.

"Officers responded on foot to the location east of where they had been interviewing witnesses. While searching this area they contacted a male individual who was not cooperative and failed to follow orders the police officers gave to him."

He says this subject,21-year old Ricardo Aranda-Solorio of Keizer, was struck with a Taser and was then bitten by a Keizer Police K-9. He was transported by paramedics to the Salem Hospital where he was treated for the bite.

He faces one count of Interfering with a Police Officer with bail set at $5,000, and one count of Resisting Arrest which also has a $5,000 bail amount. Kuhns says investigators do not believe he was involved in the shooting.

Kuhns says officers from the Salem Police Department responded to assist Keizer officers.

"Officers conducted K-9 searches of the area for approximately 45-minutes. During this time residents who had been away at the time of the shooting were not allowed to return to their apartments."

He says that at this time, the crime scenes have been secured and additional officers from the Detective Unit and Community Response Unit have been called in to assist with the ongoing investigation. The shooting suspect still remains at large and no other information is being released at this time.

Anyone having information about this incident is asked to contact the Keizer Police Department at 503-390-3713.
