Failure to stop at a stop sign changes many lives

(DAYTON) - State Police say one person was killed Thursday evening and three others injured in a two vehicle crash on Highway 221 about two miles south of Dayton.

They say their preliminary investigation indicates that one driver with a suspended license failed to stop at a stop sign, causing the tragic crash.

Around 7:30 PM Thursday, a Chevrolet Tracker sport utility vehicle driven by 22-year old Clinton Jessen of Carlton was westbound on S.E. Mallard Lane when police say it failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 221.

As they entered the intersection, the SUV crashed into the driver's side of a southbound 1994 Ford Explorer sport utility vehicle driven by 18-year old Corey Hilton of Salem.

After impact, the Ford Explorer rolled and came to rest off the highway in a field. The Chevrolet Tracker came to rest partially in a ditch on the highway shoulder.

All occupants in both vehicles were using safety restraints, but it wasn't enough to save one the Tracker's passengers.

The right front passenger in the Chevrolet Tracker, 24-year old Gina Sutton of Carlton, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Tracker, Jessen, was transported by ambulance to Willamette Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. According to his driving record, he was operating the vehicle with his license privileges suspended.

The right rear passenger in the Chevrolet Tracker, 18-year old Shannon Uder of McMinnville, was transported by LifeFlight to Legacy Emanuel Hospital with serious injuries.

Hilton, driver of the Explorer, was also transported by LifeFlight to Legacy Emanuel Hospital with serious injuries.

Oregon State Police troopers from the McMinnville Area Command, with the assistance of an OSP crash reconstructionist, are continuing the investigation. No enforcement action has been taken at this time, say police.

Yamhill County Sheriff's Office and ODOT assisted at the scene. Highway 221 was closed about 3 1/2 hours.

So it seems that the 6 year anniversary is only a couple days away, and it also seems that his stint in prison did not make any positive impact on him whatsoever, he's still a punk b*%@# douchebag piece of rotting garbage that needs to go away.

I'm here to tell people the truth about this accident...my accident. I was that 18 year old girl in the back seat. I clearly remember Gina and I begging Clinton to stop at that stop sign and getting told "would you guys just shut up I always make it". Well the 25 lbs. of titanium I now have installed in my body say different, so does the grave stone marked Gina Sutton.

This story is a load of crap. My brother did not pull out and hit the driver's side of the kid's car. My brother missed the stop sign (because a overgrown tree was blocking it from ANY drivers view). After he missed the stop sign, he started to back up and the tracker was impacted on the passenger side by the 18 yr old driver. If you're going to play reporter get your facts straight.

If you're going to play sister, then take this up with the cops, these are their allegations, not ours.  You weren't at this accident?  Funny, neither was I.  For some reason I never learned how to appear at these events like magic.  However family members of mine do know the deceased.  You in my book, do your brother no good whatsoever with this type of approach.
