(MOUNT HOOD, Ore.) - Sheriff Craig Roberts and members of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Unit say they wish to acknowledge the exceptional team work, finesse and courage rescue personnel exhibited – once again – so heroically on Mount Hood this weekend. "A special thanks to Mountain Wave Communications; American Medical Response and the Reach & Treat Team; Mount Hood Ski Patrol and Portland Mountain Rescue; as well as the ever vigilant and reliable Oregon Army Air National Guard." Clackamas Sheriff's Office Spokesman. Det. Jim Strovink said. "These rescue organizations participated in conducting two successful rescue missions on Mount Hood this weekend. On each occasion, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Search & Rescue Coordinators summon these dedicated teams of professionals, comprised mostly of volunteers, to execute these rescue missions synchronized by Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Search & Rescue coordinators." Strovink says today, 54-year old John Robert Creager of Milwaukie, Oregon was successfully attended to by rescue personnel after he fell 500' while climbing at the 10,600' level of Mount Hood earlier this morning. Creager was airlifted by an Oregon Army National Guard helicopter from Timberline Lodge around noon to Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital, in Portland.
