Missing Tacoma Man's Body Found on Forest Service Land Near Idahana

77-year-old Marvin Wright was an Alzheimer's patient, missing from his home in Tacoma, Washington since April 25th.

(IDAHANA, Ore.) - Investigators with the Marion County Sheriff's Office were called out to the Santiam Canyon area just before 11:00 AM this morning on a report of a dead body.

They were contacted by the U.S. Forest Service who reported that they had seen a white Toyota Camry on Whitewater Rd SE near mile post 6, on Forest Service land north of Detroit.

They identified the owner of the car as 77-year-old Marvin Wright of Tacoma. Mr. Wright, an Alzheimer's patient, was reported missing from his home in Tacoma, Washington on April 25th.

Marion County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Kevin Rau, says that while officers were searching the area, Deputies found Mr. Wright deceased about 40 yards from the car.

"The car was found locked and secure and there were no signs of foul play."
