(SALEM, Ore.) - If we as a society are not careful, then the same media groups that supply your evening news will soon be the only ones bringing Americans Web news, and the big business corporate media nightmare continues. Salem-News.com is different, we can help get many Internet news businesses off the ground all over the nation, with honest and current information, unclouded by unscrupulous advertisers and Internet practices. We identified our role in this industry almost four years ago when we launched Salem-News.com and all the site has done since then is grow in popularity and visitor traffic. But we have done it with little to spare, and my wife Bonnie and I have put every single thing we could liquidate on the sale block in order to keep this business alive. Now we are ready to take this to the next level. Salem-News.com is the most visited independently owned news Website in the nation, and all of our competition is tied to either national or major market TV stations, newspapers and magazine Websites. We approach life and business with the refreshing aspects of honesty and good will, and we have never wavered. We have for four years, been building the platform and design of future, similar Websites. We have built Salem-News.com to a verifiable 16,000+ daily visitors with no outdoor billboards, TV or newspaper ads. History of News in America In the late 1940's, the U.S. government decided which American cities would receive TV stations and which ones would not. The Federal Communications Commission was established by the Communications Act of 1934 as the successor to the Federal Radio Commission. To this day the FCC oversees both television and radio in the United States. They do not however, have any relationship or regulation of Internet news. Newspapers are not regulated by the FCC, and over time many were established in American cities and towns, very much the same way we plan to build Internet "news stations" in this country. Throughout history, more radio station licenses were granted than television, and as a result most communities to this day have some kind of a radio station. These TV and newspaper and radio operations were the mainstay of American news and they are still important, but statistically, the Internet is taking over and now more people go to the Web for the latest news and information. Unlike blogs or interest-based Internet sites, Web news is the same as newspaper, TV or radio; a traditional news source in other words, only with far more options when it comes to delivering the information. Why Our Concept Works Salem-News.com has been designed to work with Google, not against it as so many Internet sites do. Their motto is "do no evil" and when we heard that, we believed they were a safe bet because their approach to the Web is responsible. After two years we became a Google News provider and our traffic has had a large national appeal ever since. We believe in simplicity and we are certain that we have to forgo and ignore many approaches to Internet advertising that other sites employ; things like pop-ups and other annoying ads are not allowed here. We believe our visitors deserve better. So far, Salem-News.com is still the fastest loading news Website in Oregon; clean and trim and effective. In 2008, search engines like Google are a key medium and appearing in the first page of any search machine is imperative for those who need the coverage. Salem-News.com's extremely high ranking on the Web means the stories we cover are quickly accessed, often as the top "pull" under given keywords. Our affiliates will see similar success. We foresee hundreds of independently owned affiliate sites existing off a single network based on our flagship Salem-News.com, which will provide national and world news, while the affiliates are allowed the time to cover local news in their areas. There has never been an opportunity like this and the timing of the nation is perfect. If you want to invest in Salem-News.com please write to Bonnie King at bonnie@salem-news.com and advise us of your interest. You can join our world where we know we make a difference in people's lives each and every single day. The same type of Website can exist in other cities and towns underserved by other media like Salem, Oregon, and the opportunity means a new life for journalists competing in newspaper and TV news where the jobs keep shrinking along with their annual revenues. The revenue for these sites will be in the millions, and we look forward to meeting people who have the resources to help us operate at the next level. So far we have four years of honest hard work and a wealth of accomplishments under our belt, no opportunity this rich in media has existed in recent history.
