(SALEM) - At about 7:30 AM on Monday, Marion County Sheriff's Deputies received a call to 147 49th Ave SE in Salem that a 12-year-old Dayton girl was at that address. The girl had been previously reported as a runaway out of Yamhill County. When deputies arrived they found the girl at the home. She told investigators that she had met the man who lives at that address, 20-year-old Delfino Pacheco-Martinez, approximately one month prior in the arcade at Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City where they exchanged phone numbers. Investigators believe that on several occasions Martinez picked the girl up near her home and on at least two occasions Martinez sexually assaulted the girl at more than one location, one being his home. The girl was taken into protective custody and released into her parent's custody after undergoing a medical and sexual assault examination at Salem Hospital. Martinez was contacted at Ioka Farms near Sublimity where he works and was arrested. He was lodged at the Marion County Jail on the charges of 2nd Degree Rape, 1st Degree Sex Abuse, 2nd Degree Sexual Penetration and 2nd Degree Custodial Interference. He remains lodged at the Marion County Jail on those charges and is scheduled to appear at the Marion County Court Annex at 8:30 AM on Wednesday. The names of the girl's parents are not being released to protect her identity. Articles for May 7, 2007 | Articles for May 8, 2007 | Articles for May 9, 2007 | Quick Links
