(STEVENSON, Wash.) - The Coast Guard Sector in Portland is responding to a report of three missing fishermen in the vicinity of Stevenson, Washington. They believe the men were approximately 30 miles east of Vancouver, Washington, today. The Coast Guard says they received a call at noon from the Skamania County Sheriff reporting three men missing. It is reported that he three men, treaty tribal fishermen from the Yakima Nation, left Tuesday and were scheduled to return at 8:00 AM today. A capsized unregistered tribal vessel, matching the description of the missing vessel, has been found in shallow water by mile marker 155 near Stevenson, on the Columbia River. The Coast Guard Air Station at Astoria launched an HH-60C Jayhawk helicopter crew to search for the missing fishermen. They also report that a commercial tugboat is heading to the capsized vessel and is expected to arrive later this afternoon.
