May-07-2007 15:02TweetFollow @OregonNews Man Wanted by Sheriff's Deputies Arrested by Salem PoliceSalem-News.comMarion County Sheriff's Office Detectives have been seeking the whereabouts of William Farris since Sunday, April 22nd.
(SALEM) - Just before 10:00 AM on Sunday, Salem Police Officers arrested 29-year-old William Farris, during a hit and run investigation with connections to an ongoing Sheriff's Office investigations. Farris was arrested by Salem PD after he had apparently been driving a stolen car when he crashed into a pole near Church and E St in Salem. After the crash Farris ran from the car but was captured nearby a short time later. Marion County Sheriff's Office Detectives have been seeking the whereabouts of Farris since Sunday, April 22nd when he was involved in an incident on Hermosa Ct NE in Salem in which a deputy investigating a noise complaint was hit by a car. Sheriff's Office Investigators are still seeking the whereabouts of Farris' accomplice in the earlier crimes, 23-year-old Martin Paul Vargas Jr. He is currently being held at the Marion County Jail on several charges related to the hit and run investigation by Salem Police. Those charges include Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, possession of methamphetamine and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. He is also being held on a Parole Violation.
