Trayvon Martin's Parents Speak Out Over Son's Death

Our son Trayvon Martin was killed because he looked "suspicious." His confessed killer is still free. Join 900,000 people to call on Florida law enforcement officials to prosecute the man who took away our son.

(SANFORD, FL) - Our son didn't deserve to die. Trayvon Martin was just 17 years old when he was shot and killed by George Zimmerman. Trayvon wasn't doing anything besides walking home with a bag of Skittles and some iced tea in his hands.

What makes Trayvon's death so much harder is knowing that the man who confessed to killing him, George Zimmerman, still hasn't been charged for Trayvon's killing.

No family should ever have to go through this nightmare. The law should protect everyone, regardless of where they live, how much money they make, or what color their skin is.

With our petition at 900,000 signers so far, we've made important progress toward making some sense out of what happened. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate Trayvon's death, and so will the FBI and Department of Justice.

But Trayvon's killer is still free. The surest path to justice runs through Sanford, Florida, and through the office of State's Attorney Norman Wolfinger, who is responsible for bringing charges against Zimmerman. With your help, we believe he'll have no choice but to give Trayvon and his killer their days in court.

I think people with racist mindsets forgot to take the meds their doctors addicted them to. Racists have lower IQ's and actually don't bathe as often; (statistical data), they are far more likely to molest their own kids (more statical data), and this explains so much is wrong in Alabama, Mississippi and other redneck confederate traitor states. White men with racist attitudes should be placed in reeducation camps and held to blame for what is taking place, forced to accept responsibly for these acts. Every time a Black person is murdered, a thousand racists should be placed in these camps. Then, you toss the racist perp in the mix, and tell the rest that this is the guy who got them locked up. Then, they will kill the original criminal, and we can prosecute a dozen for murder and the rest within a hundred feet of being accessories. We can teach them that there are backlashes for their whacky and sick perversions.

The kid beat the heck out of Zimmermann. There are witnesses. Why can't you see both sides of the story? Zimmermann was bleeding from the face and head. The so called kid had him on the ground beating him. Also Zimmermann is not whit, oops he is half Hispanic, sorry to blow your bubble that he was white. Just another reason for all the blacks to go out and riot and don't eveb care about the truth. I heard the Black Panthers are out supporting the riots. Go figure these are the wonderful guys who threatened people last election to vote for the Muslim in Chief Obama. But your guys are so drugged up you don't even see the truth about anything. No wonder you want to legalize marijuana

DJ: The truth is simple and undeniable. He was told by the police dispatcher to stay in his vehicle but, instead, he went looking for trouble, and he found it. He apparently made no effort to identify himself so that if the kid had beat the shit out of him (standing his ground), Zimmerman would have been the author of his own misfortune. I have no sympathy for Zimmerman, whatsoever.

I dont know what happened, but let me share a personal opinion. I too, carry a sidearm legally. But I do what many others (including the police)do not do. I try to practice regularly, I read/memorize Oregon firearm laws, practice safety and research. For instance: If I was sitting in a restaurant, and I saw a person at the cash register with a firearm, robbing the restaurant, I would not pull out my firearm and say "freeze", or whatever. Why? A. I would just startle the person, and he may start shooting and killing innocent people, when he really had no plans of shooting anyone. B. If I were to get a shot off, what if his gun wasnt loaded, or it was a fake gun? I would go to jail most likely, esp. without a $100,000 attorney. Sorry to say, I would actually wait until the person shot somebody. It would be my only choice. My point is this...there are usually other options before firing a firearm. Was Travon injuring someone? Did Trayvon just go off for no reason and start attacking zimmerman? Both of the above sound highly unlikely to me. zimmerman was looking for a fight...there were other options zimmerman could have taken...But to be honest, police all over the country are acting the same way, maybe zimmerman is just learning by example.

Editor my question around this matter, is why has the media provided picures of those involved that do not reflect their current appearances? Also they kept the lid on this story so as to allow national organizing forces to get all their ducks in a row? How come they did not right away say the shooter was hispanic, so if the shooter had a hispanic name it would not have gone national? These shootings happen daily Mr. Editor. Here is a link to some more accurate photos, and I imagine much more info will be coming out. I expect some serious rioting is coming, do you? It will be because of racists in the minority community and their MSM enablers in my opinion:

Editor: Nobody wants this confusion; this is as black and white as anything; a man with a gun ran a kid down and killed him under the color of authority. I am ashamed of and sickened by every apologist who says this stuff. Zimmerman had choice, Martin didn't have choice. You assert something both heartless and ridiculous. Again, this is truly a sad story. Yet, LeVena Lynn Johnson was savagely beaten, forcibly raped, visciously murdered and her privates set on fire to destory DNA of the guilty party(s) and the DOJ still sticks with suicide as the cause of death when that has been proven to be an out right lie/cover-up. All this while in the employment and safety of the U.S. Army. Her parents have been speaking out for several years and zilch. Hopely, this time justice will prevail.
