(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Oregon State Police, with the assistance of United States Coast Guard, Lincoln County Sheriff's Office and Lincoln County Medical Examiner, are investigating the discovery of an unidentified body found Wednesday morning on the ocean shore of Salishan Spit south of Lincoln City. On Wednesday, at approximately 7:30 AM a person walking along the beach west of the 200 block of Salishan Drive in the Gleneden Beach area found the body of an adult male along the high tide line. Oregon State Police, Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, United States Coast Guard and Depoe Bay Fire Department responded. Preliminary information indicates the body is that of an unidentified white male approximately 50 – 60 years of age and it had been washed up onto the beach overnight. Working in conjunction with the Lincoln County Medical Examiner, investigators will be attempting to make positive identification. Family members of the two missing men believed to have been in a small plane that crashed in the ocean near Lincoln City have been notified.
