(SALEM, Ore.) - A Vigil at the Oregon State capitol this evening will recognize and pay tribute the the losses that have taken place in Iraq over the past five years.

The event is sponsored by MoveOn.org and is set to begin at 6:30 PM at the capitol building on Court Street in Salem, Oregon. Organizers hope as many people as possible attend the vigil to pay tribute to those who have died.

The public gathering at the State Capitol's steps will allow people to stand together in recognition of five years of war. The area is handicap accessible, there is parking and it is outdoors.

They say the event will see people gather for this purpose, regardless of weather.

MoveOn.org says, "On March 19th, tens of thousands of people across the country will gather to observe the fifth anniversary of the war with candlelight vigils. We'll commemorate the sacrifices too many families have made, and the billions of dollars wasted in Iraq that could have been better invested at home."
