(MCMINNVILLE) - Special activities were the order of the day at Evergreen Aviation Museum Saturday. People from around the world came to McMinnville to celebrate the museum's Annual Family Day. Family Day activities included a performance by the Nomadic Theater, bringing history to life for visitors of all ages. Russell Barney, a WWII B-17 `Flying Fortress" pilot talked about his flying days, and Radio Disney performed for the crowds. Evergreen`s activities will also go on during Spring Break, March 25th to April 2nd. The week of events will include special cockpit viewings, veteran aircraft presentations, children`s activities, tours, and the unveiling of a new B-17 exhibit. Best known as the home of the world`s largest wooden airplane, the Spruce Goose, there are more than 75 historic aircraft and exhibits on display at the Evergreen Aviation Museum, including the SR-71 Blackbird and Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat. The experience of seeing these spectacular pieces of history is a worthy use of time, whether or not one is an aviation buff. It`s something everyone in the family, young and old alike, will appreciate and remember. Great Story and package. This is an example of the packages I would like to use on my Sunday program. You tied the kids in beautifully, I especially liked the one on the toy airplane and the one flying high on Daddy's shoulders. Thank you. This will be at the top of my list of sites to see when I see your state.
