Will people figure it out before their nation is drug into another deadly war?

(SACRAMENTO, CA) - It is widely accepted that news is edited to meet the needs of advertisers and to help achieve political objectives. Republicans find the news too 'liberal', while left leaning people consider network news to be sold out and working only for the benefit of profits.

These agencies continually repeat the same old stories; many are simply designed to take us to war. Iran is the most vivid example, where a national leader, constantly victimized through bad translations, and by the fact that Americans fail to appreciate the dark side of apartheid Israel, is portrayed in one light and one light only. Netanyahu can call for the destruction of any nation or group he chooses, there is no fairness or accuracy in U.S. coverage of Israel.

Iran has plenty of issues that need to be addressed, but their quest to have nuclear power like other nations, and the fact that they flatly refuse to acknowledge that they are building a nuclear bomb, should be given more credit.

The most terrible aspect of that ongoing saga is the fact that Israel has at least 150 illegal undeclared nuclear bombs, many experts say the number is far higher. The U.S. clandestinely supplied weapons to Israel, and helped them establish the Dimona Nuclear Facility in Israel, but the idea that Iran might someday be able to build a nuclear bomb is enough for Israel and many U.S. politicians to take us into another bloody war of aggression where sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, will again die as they did in Iraq and as they continue to in Afghanistan.

The biggest reason the U.S. is out to get Iran when you boil it down, is because the nation objects to Israel having taken the land that was once Palestine, illegally, and then subjecting the Palestinians to separate laws; one for them and one for the Israeli Jews, and even Jewish only roads upon which Palestinians of any religion can not travel - including the many Palestinian Christians.

Indeed, the mainstream news has lost its grip on the events that are shaping this world.

They failed to report two 21st Century Genocides. One in Burma, against the Rohingya Muslims, is ongoing, and the Genocide of Sri Lankan Tamils in 2009, is essentially still ongoing also. Yet there was hardly a mention on network TV. Why? Apologists say Sri Lanka and Burma are both key allies in a potential war with China, so the U.S. turns a blind eye.

Because the United States has political interests in these two countries, it allows Sri Lanka and Burma (Myanmar) to do what they want; war crimes, Genocide and all... because the United States is not what it is cracked up to be and no savior in this world for anything that is not directly related to its own business and economic interests.

The TV networks and major newspapers today are simply an extension of the U.S. government and the spirit of real journalism has been forced from the building.

Another significant problem in the American news landscape is the unwillingness of mainstream media to address the simple fact that Osama bin Laden issued two clear statements, one via a press release from him, and another being a newspaper interview, both from September 2011, conclusively stating via bin Laden, that he did not carry out the September 11th 2001 terrorist attacks against the United States. His statement from 16 September was carried by groups like The BBC and CNN and is still published online by those agencies.

People have to believe that he pulled off impossible attacks "to teach us a lesson" and to "take away our freedoms", yet he denied involvement? What sense does that make? Osama bin Laden has been dead since the beginning of western hostilities in Afghanistan, in 2001.

I want to lash out and call the Americans stupid and short-sighted, I want to question the overall intelligence of a population that can solve extremely complex problems, but doesn't look at the bin Laden statements and wonder why as he said he didn't do it? The news failed to tell the truth while Bush and Cheney said bin Laden was bragging about the attacks? Are Americans really that slow? Or is patriotic blindness the problem?
