Man Leads Police on Chase Through Woodburn

Police said a small amount of drugs and a methamphetamine pipe was also discovered in the vehicle.

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - Woodburn police say a man led authorities on a chase through Woodburn early Thursday. Police say the chase started when an officer noticed a car without headlights and tried to pull the driver over.

Instead, the driver sped up and tried to elude the officer.

The driver, 22-year-old Pablo Garcia, sped through Woodburn with the officer in pursuit and then lost control and crashed at the intersection of Newberg Highway and Butteville Road.

A high-risk vehicle stop was then performed by officers of the Woodburn Police Department along with the assistance of the Hubbard Police Department.

Two other male passengers, were questioned by police and were released.

Police said a small amount of drugs and a methamphetamine pipe was also discovered in the vehicle.

Garcia was booked into the Marion County Jail on Attempting to Elude, Reckless Driving and Possession of a Controlled substance charges.
