(DALLAS) - West Valley Hospital will hold its first "Go Red for Women" event, Thursday, March 16th, 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM, in the hospital's conference room at 525 SE Washington Street in Dallas. This event is free and open to the public and no registration is required.

"The signs of heart attack are different for women and men," says Jon Pelkey, director of cardiac services at Salem Hospital and West Valley Hospital. "It's imperative that every woman learn the symptoms of a heart attack and learn how to prevent one from occurring. This event is intended to provide that life-saving information."

Those attending the event will learn about women and heart disease and the difference in the signs and symptoms of heart attack in women and men, hear about the latest blood-pressure guidelines, and get their blood pressure checked.
