(SALEM ) - Shortly before 10:30 PM Tuesday night deputies responded to the Little Ceasars Pizza Restaurant at 3278 Lancaster Dr NE in Salem on a report of an armed robbery. 17-year-old Coral Zapada, of Salem, was working in the restaurant when the man entered and demanded the money from the cash register. At first Zapada had some difficulty opening the register and the man lifted his shirt showing what Zapada described as the handle of a semi-auto handgun. The man took nearly $73 from the register and left the business on foot. A Salem Police Department K-9 unit was called to the scene but the man was not located. Several items of clothing were found in the area, however, that matched the clothing witnesses described as being worn by the man. Zapeda and other witnesses described the man as a White male adult in his 20's, about 5'9" with a thin build and light brown hair. He was seen wearing a gray "beanie" and dark colored pants. Other employees were in the business at the time of the robbery but were not in a position to see what happened. No one was injured during this incident. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the Marion County Sheriff's Office at (503) 588-5032.
