Police Find Burned Man on Roadway

The burn victim has been idetified as 26-year-old Augusto Martinez-Escobar of Salem.

(BROOKS, Ore. ) - Marion County Sheriff's detectives are trying to determine if a man found lying in the road was burn intentionally or on accident.

Deputies, with the assistance of Gervais Police, located the burn victim on 50th Ave NE near Waconda Rd. NE in Brooks as they were checking the area for suspects in a reported theft.

The patient has been idetified as 26-year-old Augusto Martinez-Escobar of Salem, and he was transported by Life Flight to Emmanuel Hospital in Portland. His condition is not known at this time. The victim's name is not being released, pending further investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Marion County Sheriff's detectives at 503-540-8007.
