Money generated from the increases will pay for new and replacement wells, reservoirs and pipeline replacement.

(KEIZER) - Beginning August 1st, Keizer residents will be paying more for water. The Keizer City Council last week approved a 4 percent water rate increase.

The increase means residents on average will pay between $7 and $8 more per year for water services, and the average Keizer business will pay between $21 and $22 more per year.

Residents will also see an increase in the administrative fee associated with sewer bills.

The sewer rate will increase from $4.50 to $4.85.

The city says the increases are expected to generate an extra $20,000 annually.

This is the fifth consecutive year that water service rates in Keizer have increased.
