(SALEM) - The Linn County Sheriff`s Office Dive team is back searching the murky waters of Walter Wirth lake at Cascade Gateway Park, for a 13-year-old girl who apparently drowned Saturday while swimming with a friend.

The Salem Fire Department`s Water Rescue team spent most of Saturday evening searching the north end of the lake, but couldn`t find the girl's body.

The park is a popular picnic spot that draws many local families.

There are warning signs posted in both English and Spanish that warn swimmers of the waters normally cold temperatures and sometimes swift currents.

NO lifeguard is present at the lake.

Two of the girl's friends who last saw her, reported that she went under the water and did not come back up.

She is reportedly Hispanic, from northeast Salem, and was wearing a pink swimsuit.
