(SALEM, Ore. ) - The Oregon State Police is asking for the public's help in locating a 37-year-old psychiatric patient from Oregon State Hospital in Salem. OSP spokesman Lt. Gregg Hastings says the patient, Shawn C. Hall, is not considered to be a danger to himself or others. He went missing on Monday. Oregon State Police are conducting an investigation to help locate him and bring him safely back to the hospital. Anyone seeing Hall in the Portland area is urged to call 9-1-1 or the Oregon State Police at 503-731-3030. If outside the Portland area, please contact the Oregon State Police at 1-800-452-7888. Hall was first admitted to Oregon State Hospital Nov. 5, 2012, as a forensic commitment from Multnomah County. In 2011, Hall was deemed guilty except for insanity for second-degree assault, domestic violence. He was sentenced to five years under the jurisdiction of the State Hospital Review Panel, which supervises patients with non-Measure 11 offenses. Hall was last seen at the Home Town Buffet on 82nd Avenue in Portland at approximately 12:15 p.m. He was part of a group of six patients and two staff who had been visiting residential treatment homes in the area. Hospital officials, who reported the escape to state and local law enforcement agencies, described Hall as 5'4, 180 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes. When last seen, he was wearing a bright blue, long-sleeved t-shirt, blue and white camouflage cargo pants and gray and blue Adidas tennis shoes. He also has tattoos on both knees and his right arm and shoulder. Anyone seeing the patient should call Oregon State Police at the numbers listed above.
