(KLAMATH FALLS) - Oregon State Police investigators are continuing to ask for information related to a report late Tuesday night that an injured female was seen being placed in an unknown white passenger car along Highway 140E near Beatty about 50 miles east of Klamath Falls. Troopers and detectives who responded to the scene located evidence, including human blood, but has not been able to locate a possible victim to determine her condition and if a crime has been committed. Follow-up investigation Wednesday with witnesses indicated the vehicle of interest was a white four-door passenger car, similar to a Dodge Intrepid or Status model, with unknown license. The male driver was described as an adult Native American male. The female passsenger was described as an adult white female with a thin build. The injured female was described as an adult Native American. On June 20th around 10:22 PM, Oregon State Police responded to a report of a loud noise, similar to someone being hit by a vehicle, on Highway 140E near milepost 40. Troopers responding to the scene were unable to find a possible victim but did see a small amount of blood and a scuff-mark on the highway about 9 feet long. Information from two witnesses indicated that they saw an unknown male pick up an injured female off the highway shoulder while an unknown female was removing objects from the highway. After placing the female in the rear seat of the white passenger car, it was seen driving away eastbound on Highway 140E. OSP detectives responded to the scene to continue the investigation. Samples of the blood found on the highway were rushed to the OSP Forensics Lab in Central Point where a preliminary analysis confirmed it was human blood. Investigators believe the scuff-mark left on the highway is consistent with that left by a body dragging on the pavement. No further leads were developed when detectives expanding the contact of area hospitals and walk-in clinics. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Detective Jason Westfall at (541) 883-5713 ext. 234.
