(AL-KHALIL) - Thing are different in the Occupied Territories…. seven-year-olds go to jail for crimes not committed. Is this in lieu of a summer camp?? Or is this the Israeli version of one??? Child captive Moataz Azmy Shuyoukhi was released from jail by Israeli authorities on Tuesday night following a three month stay in Ofer prison, after paying a fine of 500 dollars. The military court in the Ofer detention center sentenced 16-year-old Shuyoukhi to actual imprisonment for three months, in addition to the fine, on allegations of participating in anti-Israel demonstrations and throwing stones at soldiers, "placing soldiers’ lives at risk" and wounding one of them. The court refused to release Shuyoukhi on bail, as requested by the defense counsel who refuted the charges against him, asserting that the child referred to had participated in a peaceful demonstration accompanied by his father, journalist Azmi Shuyoukhi. The demonstration was attended by hundreds of Palestinians, international activists, representatives from embassies, and both Arab and foreign delegates. Shuyoukhi’s family confirmed that he was tortured during his detention and interrogation, noting that there are still signs of torture visible on his hands, head, and other parts of the body. In another incident, Israeli occupation forces issued an order for seven-year-old Mohsen Youssef Awad from the town of Beit in northern Al-Khalil, to appear before intelligence to be interviewed. Meanwhile, IOF troops arrested seven Palestinians Wednesday morning in several areas of the West Bank. Read Amad Rashid the Pakistani Journalist for a good understanding of what Tim is referring to. In his classic book Taliban, he describes exactly why Massuad was killed.

So the Taliban hang a 7 year old boy and you guys are cool with it. The Jews put a 7 year old in jail and you are outraged. What is SN's major malfunction?
Tim King: Why on earth do you assume we would be cool with Taliban killing a child? You are injecting BS into the conversation, trying to plant a little seed, well give it up. Never once in any way shape or form have we ever condoned violence toward a child, what a ridiculous assertion. I also don't write about the Taliban in positive terms, only the most honest. I am a huge admirer of the late Ahmad Massaud and he was killed by Taliban sympathizers. I have a friend whose two-year old daughter was shot and killed by Taliban in his front yard in Kabul. Try to at least make sense, find things that are real to criticize, as you go on supporting, what... Zionist genocide of Arabs? Just curious, a question not an accusation.
