Jimmie Johnson Finally Wins at Michigan

(BROOKLYN, Mich.) - After a sluggish start to the season, Jimmie Johnson is on fire.

Johnson won the Quicken Loans 400 at Michigan International Speedway for the first time in his career on Sunday after leading 39 of the 200 laps.

Johnson was winless through the first 11 races of 2014, but has since won three of the last four.

Kevin Harvick, who started on the pole, led a race-high 63 laps and finished second. Brad Keselowski, Paul Menard and Kasey Kahne rounded out the top five.

Sprint Cup Series points leader Jeff Gordon was out in front for 36 laps and placed sixth.

The Sprint Cup Series is in California next week for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway on Sunday starting at 3:00 p.m. ET (TNT).
