(SANFORD, FL) - Shellie Zimmerman, the wife of George Zimmerman, has been arrested. The wife of the man who shot and killed Trayvon Martin has been charged with perjury after lying to a judge about her husband’s finances during a bond hearing. The order was issued by assistant state Attorney John Guy, who claims that Mrs. Zimmerman deliberately made false statements to the judge.

George Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the shooting of Trayvon Martin. He was granted bail of $150,000 and released.

Zimmerman’s bond was revoked after it was determined that both he and his wife had lied to the judge about their finances. The money in question was over $200,000 that was raised on a website. Now, both George Zimmerman and his wife have been arrested for violating orders of the court.

Mrs. Zimmerman wasn’t in jail for long, however. Immediately after her arrest, she posted $1,000 bond and was released. The 25-year old woman was booked in the John E. Polk Correctional facility this afternoon. Regarding Shellie Zimmerman’s role in committing perjury, Judge Kenneth Lester said this:

“It is apparent that Shellie Zimmerman testified untruthfully at the bond hearing. The Defendant also testified but did not alert the Court to the misinformation,”

Lester wrote. “Most importantly though, is the fact that he has now demonstrated that he doesn’t properly respect the law or the integrity of the judicial process.”

Perjury charges anymore, seems to be pretty subjective. You can lie directly to the American people, in federal court and no charges. You can be the Attorney General and lie to congress and nothing happens. Oh, the power of the Presidential Pardon. In the fullness of time the special prosecutor of this Zimmerman fiasco will look just like that Nifong character from the Duke Rape fiasco. We all should just take a deep breath and allow the system to work. You see that political commercial about having Obama's back? Well, does he have our back? Does the criminal system respond as per political/social pressures? Facts will get out, and so will those whose motives are self-serving, not of proper jurisprudence.
