Salem Police Seize Meth from West Salem Apartment

(SALEM, Ore.) - Members of the Salem Police Street Crimes Unit and the Drug Activity Response Team say they seized 3.64 pounds of methamphetamine from a West Salem apartment and arrested 4 adults on Friday evening, June 8th.

Police Spokesman Lt. Bill Kohlmeyer says this information was not released earlier because investigators were following additional leads and felt releasing the information may jeopardize those leads.

According to Kohlmeyer, officers acting on information of possible drug activity made contact at 193 Rosewood Dr. NW Apt #3.

He says Jesus Torres Munguia gave them consent to search the apartment and officers found, drugs and packaging material and $1,525 in cash.

"Over three pounds of crystal meth, scales, a firearm, packaging, and a twenty pound bucket of MSM were located. The MSM is used to cut or thin the methamphetamine to basically make the packages bigger. The street value of the methamphetamine is approx. $87,500.00."

Salem Police say 31-year old Jesus Torres Munguia of 193 Rosewood Dr NW #3 in Salem, was arrested for:

  • Manufacturing a controlled substance- Meth
  • Manufacturing a controlled substance- Meth, within 1000' of a school
  • Distributing a controlled substance- Meth
  • Distributing a controlled substance- Meth, within 1000' of a school
  • Possesion of a controlled substance - Meth and Maintaining a place where controlled substances are used.

29-year old Maria G Garcia Montlongo, of the same address was arrested for the same charges.

32-year old Adalid Gutierrez Mendoza of 275 29th Avenue Longview, Washington was arrested for the same charges.

24-year old Andres Cervantes Murillo, Andres of 3310 Felina Ave NE Apt 163 in Salem was arrested for the same charges.

All four were transported to the Polk County Jail, where they were lodged.

did they find any leads. usually meth labs are fairly easy to find
