(CANBY, Ore.) - On Saturday morning about 8:40 AM, Canby Police Officers responded to the report of a disturbance involving a rifle at 2750 N Maple Court. The caller told dispatch that a man and woman were fighting in the front yard and the man had taken a rifle from the female and threw it in a flower bed. When officers arrived they could see empty Budweiser cans strewn across the yard and into the street. Off the back deck of the house officers reported seeing chairs and other articles thrown into the yard, which connects to one of the fairways of the Willamette Valley Country Club's golf course. Officers called into the residence and had the suspects exit the house. The female suspect, 25-year old Andrea Wise, exited the house through the front door where she was taken into custody. Not knowing if the other suspect was still in the residence, officers made attempts to call in to the house, but no one answered the phone. Officers used the P.A. system on one of the patrol cars to call out any persons still in the house. This was done for several minutes while all traffic on N Maple Court was stopped. Officers finally went into the residence to check for the other suspect but did not locate anyone in the house. It was learned later that the male suspect had left the residence in a vehicle prior to officers arriving. 32-year old Dondi L. Foster was located by Marion County Sheriff's Office in Hubbard, Oregon. A Canby officer responded to that location and Foster was arrested and lodged at Clackamas County Jail for Assault IV. Wise was lodged at Clackamas County Jail for Assault IV and Pointing a Firearm at Another. The original rifle was located in a bush near the residence by officers at the scene. A second rifle, not used in the crime, was seized from the residence. This entire incident occurred after both suspects had been drinking all night and got into an argument over the male going to work. The case is being referred to the Canby City Attorney.
