Troopers Say Guns, Drugs and Stolen I.D. Recovered During Aggressive Driver Stop

(SALEM) - A state Police trooper using an unmarked car arrested two men for drug and weapons violations Wednesday morning in Salem Trooper Shawn Swisher says it began with when he stopped a 2002 Cadillac Escalade northbound on I-5 near milepost 280. Swisher was operating his Aggressive Driver Enforcement Program unmarked Camaro and observed the Escalade driving aggressively at high speeds and following too close. The Escalade was stopped and a Salem Police drug dog alerted on the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed 15 grams of Heroin and a small user amount of methamphetamine. Also located in the vehicle were two handguns, stolen I.D., stolen mail, burglary tools, forged instruments and I.D. theft materials. The operator of the vehicle, 26-year old Lauren A. Nguyen, and passeger, 25-year old Felipe J. Morales, were arrested on numerous charges including Possession and Delivery of a controlled substance, mail theft and possession of a forged instrument. Both were lodged at the Marion County Jail. The Oregon State Police Aggressive Driver Enforcement Program not only detects those drivers who are endangering other motorists, but also any criminal activity occuring on State highways.
