First Recruit Leaves Oregon State Basketball Program

Recruit guards Chai Baker and Gary Payton II both reaffirmed their commitments to Oregon State since Tinkle was hired.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Since Wayne Tinkle has taken over as head coach of the Oregon State men’s basketball program he as been able to hold together half of the incoming recruiting class.

Although, according to Jeff Goodman of ESPN, on Tuesday night, he may have lost one of his remaining commitments.

Goodman said that Oldsmar Christian School, located in Florida, 6’10 center Isaiah Manderson has been released from his National Letter of Intent to play for the Beavers.

Manderson was the first commit for the Class of 2014 for then-head coach Craig Robinson. He pledged to the Beavers in July 2013. He was listed as a three-star recruit by Rivals, with offers from Cincinnati, Florida State, Kansas State, Maryland, Memphis, UCLA and UNLV among others.

Like Manderson, 6-foot-8 power forward Cameron Oliver continues to weigh his options.
