Affordable Housing Project Breaks Ground Tuesday

(SALEM) - Ground will be broken Tuesday for a 67-unit, affordable housing community for seniors in Salem, located at 3524 Fisher Road NE.

This project is a result of a collaborative effort on the part of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the City of Salem and Retirement Housing Foundation, one of the largest non-profit sponsors of affordable housing for seniors in the nation.

Several local officials are scheduled and confirmed to attend and speak at the event. They include Senator Jackie Winters, County Commissioner Patti Milne and Mayor Janet Taylor, along with the Retirement Housing Foundation`s President and CEO Dr. Laverne R. Joseph.

Retirement Housing Foundation has 45 years of experience in building affordable housing for seniors � with communities in 24 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This will be the second RHF community in Oregon, they have a 26-unit community for seniors in Estacada.
