Linn County Sheriff's Office Serves Warrant for Online Child Pornography

The clock is ticking for anyone involved in online child porn.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports his detectives served a search warrant this morning at a residence in Albany after a month long investigation into the online distribution of child pornography.

25-year old Britain James Sylvester Spikes, of Albany admitted to using a computer in his residence located on Tracy Court, to download and distribute child pornography over the Internet.

Numerous electronic devices were seized and occupants of the residence were interviewed. One computer in the residence was determined to be actively distributing child pornography files when detectives arrived.

Electronic devices seized from the residence will be forensically examined by the Linn County Sheriff's Office Digital Forensics Laboratory, and additional charges may be forthcoming after the digital forensics analysis.

Spikes was arrested and lodged at the Linn County Jail on three counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the First Degree.

The investigation gathered information related to the online distribution of child pornography with the assistance of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), which the Sheriff's Office is a member.

Linn County Sheriff's Office was assisted in this investigation by the Benton County Sheriff's Office, the Corvallis Police Department, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
