Eleven Oregon Meth Enforcement Programs Receive Grant Funds

Programs were awarded funds ranging between $18,400.00 and $50,159.00 for programs July 1st, 2007 through June 30th, 2008.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Eleven community-based methamphetamine enforcement programs around the State were recently awarded one-time grant funds through the Emergency Board Meth-Enforcement Grant Program. A total of $400,000.00 of grand funds was distributed to the selected programs.

"The funds were competitively distributed to local law enforcement agencies to support programs to reduce the manufacture and/or distribution of methamphetamine," said Ms. Karen Green, Oregon State Police Criminal Justice Services Division. "The intent of the grant funds is for activities that enhance current efforts aimed at clandestine labs and drug trafficking organizations."

The following community-based enforcement programs were awarded funds ranging between $18,400.00 and $50,159.00 for programs July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008:

* Clackamas County Sheriff's Office - $40,000 * Douglas County Interagency Narcotics Team - $18,400 * Gresham Police Department - $37,035 * Jackson County Narcotics Enforcement Team - $36,472 * Josephine County Sheriff's Office - $40,840 * Linn County Sheriff's Office - $37,035 * Medford Police Department - $32,278 * Multnomah County Sheriff's Office - $37,035 * Polk County Sheriff's Office - $38,712 * Coos County South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team - $32,034 * Tillamook County Sheriff's Office - $50,159
