Man's Body Discovered on the Beach North of Newport

The unidentified white male is believed to be approximately forty to fifty years old. Investigators say the body does not appear to have been washed ashore.

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - Oregon State Police detectives are investigating the suspicious death of an unidentified adult male found Wednesday morning on the ocean shore west of Little Creek Cove in north Newport.

They are working with the the assistance of Newport Police, and Lincoln County's District Attorney and Medical Examiner.

They say the manner and cause of death are still under investigation.

Police say the discovery was made at approximately 6:00 AM by a person who was jogging on the ocean beach north of the Agate Beach Wayside. The deceased victim's body was fully clothed.

The unidentified white male is believed to be approximately forty to fifty years old. Investigators say the body does not appear to have been washed ashore.

No further information is being released at this time pending today's continuing investigation.
