(LA GRANDE, Ore.) - A wanted fugitive from Wyoming who is a suspect in an Aurora, Oregon burglary and car theft was arrested Wednesday morning by an Oregon State Police in the La Grande area when the stolen vehicle was spotted after an ‘Attempt to Locate' broadcast. At 7:47 AM, Marion County Sheriff's Office issued an officer safety 'All Points Bulletin' teletype in Oregon regarding a wanted fugitive out of Wyoming believed to be driving a stolen 1979 Pontiac Firebird. The car allegedly was taken in conjunction with an overnight Aurora-area burglary in the 11000 block of Grouse Lane NE. Information indicated the suspect, Ronald Goshorn, age 46, was wanted on a felony warrant with a "Caution" indicator out of Wyoming for Parole Violation following a Kidnapping conviction. Goshorn was believed to be enroute to Ohio. At about 9:00 AM, the OSP Southern Command Center dispatch broadcasted the APB information to OSP troopers in eastern Oregon. At 10:25 AM OSP Trooper Marcus McDowell was patrolling westbound on Interstate 84 near La Grande when he spotted a matching vehicle eastbound near milepost 264. Trooper McDowell drove west about a quarter of a mile and turned eastbound to overtake the car. While attempting to overtake the car, it exited at milepost 265 and pulled into a truck stop where the trooper saw the driver get out and go inside. Trooper McDowell confirmed the displayed license plate was the same as that provided during the APB broadcast and went inside where he detained the driver who he positively identified as Goshorn. Property, including jewelry, power tools and silver dollars, believed to be stolen during the burglary was found in the car. Trooper McDowell lodged Goshorn in the Union County Jail on the following charges:
