Marion County Fair Begins Today in Salem

This year's feature concert is on Friday night with the country trio The Henningsens.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - One of the oldest county fair's in Oregon starts today in Salem.

The Marion County Fair, which began in 1860's, is held at the Oregon State Fairgrounds and draws about 27,000 visitors every year.

Besides great food booths, carnival rides, and 4-H exhibits, this year there will be the Barnyard Splash and Dash 3K and 5K fun run. Various water, mist, and foam features will be on the safe, closed to vehicles course. Run or walk the fairgrounds with switch backs on the motocross, amphitheater, and the south parking lot.

The event, sponsored by the Keizer Chamber of Commerce will be held on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Cost for adults $32 and youth 12 and under $22. A commemorative towel, finisher award, swag and a ticket to the fair comes with every entry.

This year's feature concert is on Friday night with the country trio The Henningsens coming to the fair. The Henningsens had a hit debut single “American Beautiful”.

Friday and Saturday - 10: a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Sunday - 10: a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
