Bomb Explosion Rocks Beirut, Leaves Cars Smoldering

(BEIRUT) - I was ONE block away near my apartment when a huge bomb went of setting a least 8 cars on fire and shattering the window of tens of buildings.

People were in a panic. I was one of the first on the scene and just returned to file a report...
As I helped a fire brigade drag hoses as close as we could get to the flames, guys from Hezbollah started to arrive en masse.
Right now there is still panic and flames and black smoke and glass everywhere. I do not know about the injured, etc.
The bomb went off in a small parking lot that is surrounded by 12 high rise apartments forming a square... the blast occurred in an alley off of Abbas Mousawi street.
I will be returning to the site shortly. No media on the scene so far... as I was working with the fire brigade our friend arrived from his office which is two blocks away.
Hez did not object for some reason to me taking photos, unlike their reputation. So far they are not organized....lots of panic and screaming people. I have included a few of many photos I took.

He was a witness before the Israeli Kahan Commission Inquiry, held at Hebrew University in Jerusalem in January 1983.
