(NEW YORK CITY) - This summer the School of the International Center of Photography will offer a new course focusing on an artist whose image is often discussed more than her music.

From August 13-18, Lady Gaga: A Platform for Self-Expression Through Photography, will give students the opportunity to explore Lady Gaga’s visual identity, her approach to artistry, and how she has challenged societal boundaries for self-expression.

Through the study of her appearance and performance, students may open their eyes to the conceptual and technical approaches to photographic self-expression; valuable knowledge for any photographer.

Students may expect in-class and out-of-class assignments that help tie Lady Gaga’s vision and ideals with their own, and weekly class discussions and critiques that provide support and encouragement.
