Jul-02-2012 02:58TweetFollow @OregonNews 'It's Big What You Did' by Agron BelicaSalem-News.comNew song is a tribute to Salem-News.com's team of human rights reporters.
(BOSTON / SALEM) - Salem-News.com founder Tim King, says it is hard to describe the feeling that accompanies each new musical release from Agron Belica. "The music is extremely good, it's great, but the idea that this talented artist celebrates our team, and is at the same time part of our team, drives the experience to the top of the charts on a personal level." The organization's years of reporting human rights violations have inspired many, King says, "But when these reports are celebrated with music that even critical listeners applaud, it lets us know we have arrived. Agron is in my opinion, as talented as any of the top level stars in music today." Genocide: as long as it is taking place, there is no larger priority. We can convince ourselves that what happens in faraway places is not our business as western people, but that is not true. We are not set to rest on our laurels when human rights are being violated. Success in waging a human rights campaign affects us like a drug and we want more, we're willing to do a lot to get that 'high' and it is marvelous that our media forces strike fear and horror in the hearts of the world's oppressors. The pen is mightier than the sword; online electronic journalism today is more powerful than a thousand rocket launchers. Jamal BelicaThere is a sneaking suspicion that part of what keeps Agron in sync with this modern age is his own connection to it; a family that includes his son Jamal Belica. 'JB' as he is known, is like his dad, an extremely talented musician and vocalist who is if anything, ahead of his time. JB sings songs that empower people of any age, and this young prodigy already has his own entertainment company, Aldin Entertainment. In the coming days we will carry an interview between Tim King and JB about this super unique position he is creating for himself as an entertainer, accomplished martial artist, and as a genuinely fantastic kid with plans to save the world single handed someday if that is what it takes. Agron BelicaAgron's hip hop talent is only one aspect of his talent, but a notable one, and while it was good from the beginning, this new release brings something else to the mix; it is tight and easy to quickly get stuck in your head. Agron grew up in tough city streets and knows how hard life can be for people. As a resident of historic, Boston, Massachusetts, Agron's writing and music carry an air of history and understanding that is missing in contemporary media. With a heart the size of the Gaza Strip, he isn't doing it for fame or personal recognition. Yet these rich contributions to the world as a singer/songwriter and as an author and journalist, inevitability bring just that. Our hat is off to Agron for his ability to follow a righteous path while remaining focused on the need to keep fighting for those human beings who are suffering. Salem-News.com writers share hard commentary and report the stark facts of brutality toward mankind. Tim King has been writing article that are slowly pushing the government of Sri Lanka toward war crime court; Ken O'Keefe and Gilad Atzmon are two of the world's leading critics of Israeli military policies, and as a result they are constantly assailed by supporters of Israel's apartheid government. William Gomes is proving that effective human rights activism and well executed journalism can literally save lives in the most direct way. Tim KingThe intersection of Tim King and Agron Belica was a spark of light that translated into an incredible relationship between two men. They both believe they can wield a tremendous influence on the world and they both believe that their ideas about peace and equality are right on target, nobody will ever change their minds. Tim's writings over the last several years have addressed numerous subjects, but his name is increasingly becoming associated on a public level with reportage of recent war crimes in Sri Lanka. He's no stranger to war, having covered combat operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan, but it is the island nation off India formerly known as 'Ceylon' that has been the primary focus of Tim's attention over the last two years. The goal is seeing justice for the ethnically cleansed Tamil minority. Tim will be in Baltimore with Bonnie King in the coming days where he will be a key note speaker at the FeTNA (Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America ) Conference next week, speaking about his stories revealing the horror of the Tamil Genocide in Sri Lanka. Gilad AtzmonGilad is an author and world class musician, once part of 'The Blockheads' which launched into history the classic song, 'Sex and Drugs and Rock n Roll'. His new book, 'The Wandering Who?' has led to a series of attacks by a host of Zionist activists like Alan Derschowitz and other right wing mouthpieces for Israel. As an inside source into the madness and prejudice of Israel, Gilad's strength is too much for his critics to effectively challenge, they inevitably fail to bring any real criticism to the table at all, only loose accusations, because he writes biting truth and they are left frustrated and beating their fists. Born and raised in Israel, it was not until his late teens, during the invasion of Lebanon in 1982, that Gilad realized what his country was really about. He speaks from personal experience and his rich sounds and words have adorned our pages for years. Quick witted and ever charming, Gilad is one of the top jazz sax players in Europe The latest attacks against Gilad were from people claiming to be Palestinian activists; it is a fully infiltrated movement but some, like Gilad Atzmon, are simply true to the music. Ken O'KeefeFrom his activism at the offset of the invasion of Iraq, to his work saving whales and striving to help Hawaiians achieve a sovereign nation; to battles with Israeli commandos and heroism for the broken people of Gaza, and the London Gypsies, and the Irish... Ken has established his role as an overtly strong activist for humanity who refuses to apologize for the effectiveness of his efforts. Ken has appeared on major media countless times over his world level peace activism; his name is forever associated with the statement he coined, 'TJP'- Truth, Justice and Peace. Ken is all friend and part mentor and we all see him as a top leader in the fight for Palestinian freedom. He was part of the first Freedom Flotilla to reach Gaza in four decades, and was aboard the peace ship Mavi Marmara which was attacked by Israel in open ocean waters; nine of Ken's fellow activists, all unarmed, were murdered by the assaulting Israeli militants. Dozens aboard the ship were injured. Ken has paid the price for his activism as a recipient of Israeli beatings, by witnessing their illegal killings first hand, and he had paid his dues in ways few ever could. William GomesWilliam Gomes gives no government any room to abuse its citizens and behave illegally. He removes their ability to conduct arbitrary police arrests, torture, sexual abuse and rape, without the risk of those official's names and positions being published in our of our articles. Political prisoners, dissidents and others who speak out against totalitarian fascist politics, have a friend in Mr. Gomes. During his years working in Asia as a reporter and human rights activist, our 'Human Rights Ambassador' became a magnet for the tragic stories of people suffering abuse at the hands of their governments, and his open letters to government officials have actually led to one activist in Pakistan being saved from torturous ISI officials. William proves to us that communication with elected officials is often the key toward resolving issues of human suffering; we can't strictly rely on them watching the news, we have to send it to them also. The accomplishments of William Gomes on behalf of mankind are measurable, and his criticism of his own government led hiz to potentially be threatened with a charge of 'Sedition' in his home country Bangladesh. That, carries a death penalty. This is what we are up against in this world as reporters. We are very close to releasing the full video review of the newly released album, 'Newsic Revolution'. This new song will be released with accompanying songs on the new upcoming album, 'The Rebellion Album' It's Big What You Did by Agron Belica: it is dedicated to Tim King, William Gomes, Ken O'Keefe, Gilad Atzmon, and AB..
