(SALEM, Ore.) - The Sheriff's Office has responded to 7 traffic crashes throughout Marion County in the past two days where icy roads and adverse weather conditions have been a contributing factor, Lt. Sheila Lorance reports.

According to Marion County's Emergency Manager, there was a dense fog advisory for the Willamette Valley until noon today.

"We are asking people to leave a little earlier so you are not in a hurry to get to your destination, drive with your headlights on, leave plenty of space between you and the vehicle in front of you and always buckle up."

In addition to foggy conditions, ice has been a factor on Marion and Yamhill County roads as well as Clackamas and the Portland area.
