(SALEM, Ore.) - Update 2-2-09: The Marion County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that Jessica Marie Arce has been located in the State of Iowa.

She is safe and traveled to Iowa on her own, however, it is unknown at this time why she didn't make contact with her family or let anyone know where she was going.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office would like to thank those people who helped look for Jessica as well as the calls that came in from concerned citizens.

******************Original Story*******************

The Marion County Sheriff's Office has received information Tuesday indicating that a 31-year old female and her dog had been missing for over 24 hours in the Salem area.

Lt. Sheila Lorance with the Marion County Sheriff's Office says that according to the woman's husband, Elijah Galaviz Arce, their car broke down near Portland Road and Lancaster Drive on 1-26-09, around 9:00 a.m.

Arce said he went to get a part for the car and his wife, Jessica Marie Arce, remained in the vehicle. When Elijah returned to the vehicle approximately one hour later, Jessica and their dog, a black and white Border Collie "Mookie" were gone.

Jessica Marie Arce is a 31-year old white female, five feet four inches tall, 120 pounds, and she was last seen wearing blue jeans, blue/white tennis shoes (possibly Asics brand), a black hooded sweatshirt and possibly a red/tan stripped shirt.

She may still have their dog, Mookie and he could be wearing a red collar.

Jessica is not from the Salem area; she was staying in Dayton and also has ties in Medford and Jacksonville, Oregon.

If anyone has seen or has information regarding Jessica Arce they are asked to contact Marion County Sheriff's Deputy Matt Hagan at (503) 588-5032.
