Reported Burglar Dies While Breaking Into Oregon Business

Death investigation is taking place in the 2200 Block of Harbeck Road South of Grants Pass.

(GRANTS PASS) - Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers and Criminal Investigations Division detectives are investigating the death Tuesday morning of an adult male during a reported burglary in progress at a business south of Grants Pass.

Preliminary information indicates on January 21, 2014 at 7:07 a.m., OSP Southern Command Center dispatch received a transferred 9-1-1 call of an interrupted burglary in progress of a business at 2245 Harbeck Road south of Grants Pass.

Employees arriving at work found a male suspect inside. Before OSP arrived on scene, the employees reported the man stopped breathing and medical personnel were dispatched.

CPR efforts were started until OSP and medical personnel arrived when the unidentified male was pronounced deceased.

No other information to be released at this time. An update will be sent when more details are authorized for release later today.
