Salem Police Investigating Theft of Steel Shelving Units

Investigators believe the suspect(s) may try to sell the units for scrap metal.

The Salem Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in the investigation of 20 very distinctive steel shelving units from a local business.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - The Salem Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in the investigation of 20 very distinctive steel shelving units from a local business.

The shelving units, approximately eight feet in length, painted bright orange and of considerable weight, were taken from the fenced yard of an industrial business in southeast Salem.

The theft occurred during the evening of January 9 or January 10 when the suspects cut through the fence and into the yard.

Investigators believe the suspect(s) may try to sell the units for scrap metal and we are asking for the public's assistance in locating this property.

If anybody has any information on this theft or the whereabouts of the property, please call Salem Police Detective Tom Johnson at 503-588-6050, extension 7158.
